Is Australia's Point Based System for immigration realistic? From Mr Michael Gove.
As per him Britain already operates Australian point based system of migration for all non-EU applicants. The Australia system for getting people from abroad is easy and good in terms of numbers. The system is mainly calculating points and if scoring 60 are applicable to lodge is fitting into the occupation list released every year.
The list of Australian Permanent Residency mainly has all who are in shortage in Australia and get the licence to work and get permanent residency and if they keep on working for two years, have the chance to become Australian Citizen if they take the oath. But in Britain the Skilled Migrants are capped to 20,700 from outside the European Union and will settle in UK if they have job earning of 35,000 pounds or more per year, which is around 35,00,000 Rupees per year of salary. How do you think how many in India have this kind of salary to be applicable for this. Mainly only very high professionals are the ones who are eligible to move to UK but irrespective of amount they earn, Australia system is about Skilled Workers who are good in Age, Education, English and Experience, but who much they are earning does not matter for Skilled Worker Visa Categories.
As per the level of migration it reflects the reality of Britain has been the country of mass net migration from outside EU in the past 15 years and all politicians have failed till date for cutting the level of mass migration. They should learn from Australia, although the population difference along with the size of the country is very apart, they should make point based along with occupation list and hire only those who are fitting into the category of shortage of work people in UK or those who will help the organizations/companies working in UK for their future.
