Citizens of EU countries (including Switzerland) need not obtain a residency permit in order to live and work in the UK; however, obtaining the EEA Resident Permit confirms their rights for the same. Original Passport/ID of the prime applicant as well as accompanying dependents
A letter of employment from the employer, which should include the commencement date and duration of the employment
The employment need not to be fulltime. The duration of the EEA Residency Permit depends on the duration of the employment. As mentioned above, if the employment duration is less than 3 months, EU citizens need not apply for the EEA Residency Permit. If the employment duration is between 3 and 12 months, then the duration of the EEA Residency Permit will be restricted to the duration of the employment. In case, the employment duration is more than one year, then the EEA Residency Permit will be granted for a maximum period of 5 years.
The prime applicants cannot take a break from their jobs for more than 6 months. Additionally, accompanying family members also receive equal work and residency rights.
