Manitoba Provincial Program
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program is for those foreign nationals who are looking forward to enter Manitoba province under the skilled worker category. Like other Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), MPNP also provides an alternate and faster gateway to Federal Skilled Worker program for those who want to work in Canada as skilled workers.
A total of 5,500 nominations are allocated for the MPNP for the year 2015, in which 500 nominations will be through the Canada’s new Express Entry classification. Those Express Entry candidates who have gained additional 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), on nomination from Manitoba will also receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in the province.
Including the Express Entry program, there are three ways to immigrate to Manitoba.
By getting selected from the Manitoba province government from the Express Entry pool for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. The province’s government selects the candidates from the EE pool.
By directly applying to MPNP. Under this stream, selected candidates are then asked to apply to enter in the Federal Express Entry Pool, in case they haven’t done already.
Nomination through the existing skilled worker and business visa categories. Under this stream, applicants are not required to apply through the Express Entry program, but will have to meet all the specific requirements listed under the specific category.
There are three immigration streams under the MPNP.
Manitoba Invitation: Under this stream selected candidates are sent an invitation to apply for permanent residency in Manitoba province.
Manitoba Connection: This stream is for those who have connections (work or education related) or family members and relatives living in Manitoba.
Business Investor: This stream is for those who want to invest in Canada. The selection process for this stream is undertaken through the Express Entry.
