Higher Education Sector (Subclass 573)
We provide information about Australia Higher Education Sector Visa & Processing time.
This visa allows international students to stay and study in Australia for a full-time higher education course. Streamlined student visa processing arrangements have been made available by Australian government since March 2012 for higher education visa, under which eligible applicants from the participating universities and institutions are taken as a lower immigration risk.
Eligibility Criteria for Australia Higher Education Sector Visa:
Irrespective of the country of origin, the eligible students have to meet lesser evidentiary requirements during the immigration process and they are not assigned an assessment level as well. However, they have to meet the following eligibility criteria:
To apply for student visa under the Streamlined Student Visa Processing arrangements, an applicant must have a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) from a university or an institution participating in the arrangements.
In case an applicant enrolls in a package of courses, then all the included courses must be available at the participating education provider or at one of its educational business partner.
In addition, to apply for this visa an applicant must either currently have or have held a qualifying Australia visa no more than 28 days prior to submitting the visa application.
Who can apply for it?
The COE available under the streamlined student visa processing arrangements are for a
Bachelor Degree,
Master’s Degree,
Doctoral Degree,
Non-award university student exchange program, and
Non-award study abroad program.
Note 1: In case an applicant combines the non-award university student exchange or non-award study abroad program with any of the preliminary course(s), then he will no longer be eligible for the streamlined student visa processing and will fall into the general assessment category.
Note 2: If an applicant is sponsored by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or the Australian Department of Defense on a Foreign Affairs or Defense Sector visa (subclass 576), then he will not be considered as an eligible streamlined student visa processing candidate.
