Visa for looking after a student, Student Guardian (Subclass 580)
This is the kind of visa for those who are looking to come to Australia while the student wants or going to study in Australia. This is the visa that allows the guardians to stay in Australia while the study is going on. This is for those who:
– Is the guardian of international student under 18 years of age and are studying in Australia on the student visa.
– Also in exceptional circumstances this can be given to those guardians who are for international students over the age of 18 years.
The guardian should be atleast the parent or the one who is taking legal custody of the student, can also be a relative of the student after the parent nominate them to take care of the student while going to study in Australia. Moreover, the guardian must be over 21 years of age and do not have any family member to take care of, under the age of 6 years.
This is also the visa that is not counted in EVisa, therefore all who are looking to apply for this visa, must apply by post or in person. This visa lets the guardian do the following:
– Stay in Australia for the same time as per the student visa for whom they are the guardian or till the time the student turns 18 years of age.
– Also can study in Australia for any course other than ELICOS for upto three months.
