The Vocational Education and Training (VET) Sector Visa allows international students to take full-time vocational education and training courses in Australia.
About the Visa
The visa is designed for international students applying to study in Australia for the following courses:
Certificate I, II, III and IV (except ELICOS)
VET diploma • VET advanced diploma
Vocational graduate certificate or
Vocational graduate diploma
The VET visa is for those applicants who want to apply
for their first student visa.

Under this visa, dependent family members can accompany you to Australia; but in case the family members want to enroll for an academic course of duration of more than 3 months, then they have to apply for their own student visa. Once the course has begun, you and your partner(s) can work in Australia for 20 hours a week.
Eligibility
An applicant must also first get enrolled in a registered VET course before he can apply for the visa. In addition, applicants must meet other relevant requirements such as financial and health requirements, English skills and submission of Academic Qualification Certificates for getting this visa.
Requirements to meet during the Course
Applicants must uphold the visa conditions while they are studying and living in Australia, otherwise it may result in their visa cancellation.
Applicants must remain enrolled in the course.
Applicants must maintain their attendance to a satisfactory level.
Applicants must make satisfactory progress in their course.
