Extended Stay Pathway:You can also apply for this visa as a subsequent visa, or if you already hold subclass 475, 487, 495 or 496 visa.
You also become eligible to apply for this visa if one of your family members holds subclass 489, 475, 487, 495 or 496 visa.
While your subclass 489 visa is valid, you can study and work in Australia in the specified regions. During this period, you can enter and leave Australia multiple times. As a subclass 489 visa holder, you are also eligible to apply for Skilled Regional (Residence) visa (subclass 887) to get permanent residency in Australia.
